Capital Club, Dubai’s premier private business club and a member of the ENSHAA group of companies, celebrated its 7th anniversary on April 16th in a retro inspired throw back to the glitz and glam of the 1950s.
The event based on the famous Marilyn Monroe film, The Seven Year Itch, saw 800 Members and their VIP guests embrace the glamorous theme. The Club was superbly crafted in 1950s décor and the food followed the theme - fresh oysters, hand rolled sushi, fresh Spanish halal delicatessen meats, a range of French specialty cheeses, quirky desserts and the obligatory celebratory bubbly.
The Club’s General Manager, Emma Cullen, who always embraces the themes personally, said “This annual bash is all about our Members, the team throw in their all, they work tirelessly to ensure that each year we bring something even better than the last. We are now known for our theming and quality food and beverage and providing all the ingredients for Club Members to relax, have fun and impress their guests. This year’s post party feedback has been phenomenal. ”
The various floors transported guests to different parts of the 50’s era, and featured a Swing Revue on the Club’s podium level that included a ‘twist’ version of ‘Route 66’ and Ray Charles’ 1959 hit ‘Let the Good Times Roll’. Also featured were iconic dances such as the jive, fast swing and jitterbug; a Cheek to Cheek (Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett) song performances by Cara Roberts & Luke; a martini glass dancer; and top dance mixes by DJ Billys from Mykonos who flew in for the event.
The evening was supported by Al Tayer Motors with a VIP Ferrari Lounge and a stunning California T display at the entrance; Etihad Airways (who presented a mock-up of the world’s most exclusive, three-room suite in the sky, The Residence); and Standard Chartered Bank. Top of the range prizes were also awarded to guests with the best dressed tag, including flights by Etihad Airways, and a surprise flight raffled off during the evening by Head of UAE Sales, Haitham Hassan as well as Dhamani Jewelry a long standing Club supporter, and a five-nights stay on Velaa Private Island in the Maldives presented by Ajay Bandhu, the Resort Owners Representative.
Official photo coverage was provided by The White Agency tagging to social media – a Club event first, and Innovative Hiring supplied the Club with eye-catching furniture. Yasa Caviar, Eomar, Baker & Spice, Atisuto, Cocosia, Grey Goose, and Chivas Bar catered the party with magnificent eats and beverages.
