The 22nd Salah el-Din Citadel music festival will start on on Wednesday night and will be held in an Open Air Theatre of in Cairo Opera. Culture Minister Mohamed Saber Arab and head of Cairo Opera
House Inas Abdel Dayem will be present for the opening.
The festival will begin with the Egyptian Republican Anthem, followed a speech from the Head of the Cairo Opera House and the Culture Minister. Five influential people will receive awards for their contribution to the Egyptian cultural scene: late founder of Alexandria Opera Gehad Dawoud, Conservatory professor Awatef al-Sharkawy, musician el Houssiny Abdel Daiem, Arab singer Mohsen Farouk and trumpet player Labib Gerges.
The entertainment show will start with the Commemorative Cairo Orchestra led by Maestro Tarek Mahran and the participation of a group of stars from Cairo Opera directed by Abdallah Saad.
The festival will include many stars from the Arab world such as Ali el-Haggar, Mohamed el-Helw, Tarek Fouad, Syrian singer Majd el-Qasem, Loay, Moroccan singer Janaat and opera singer Marwa Nagy.
