HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA chapter stressed that the Expo Centre Sharjah is willing to reinforce its relationship with the German MICE industry, and to establish joint ventures and share expertise with German major exhibition organizers.

The statement was made during a meeting held with a high level German delegation from DVS, one of the leading German welding and heavy equipment manufacturers.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of  the13th  edition of SteelFab 2017 - organized at Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern and explored ways to strengthen relations between their organizations.

Al Midfa discussed with the German delegation the possibility of establishing a strategic partnership with DVS. He received an invitation to attend many industrial events in Germany, particularly the Schweissen and Schneiden 2017- the world leading trade fair for welding engineering, joinery, cutting and surfacing, which will be held in Düsseldorf  from 25-29 September, 2017.

During the meeting, Al Midfa highlighted the importance of SteelFab - the Middle East Trade Show for Metal Working, Metal Manufacturing and Steel Fabrication Industry, one of the region’s major steel industry events, which kicked off last Monday.

“SteelFab serves as an ideal platform for businessmen and investors to learn about the latest technologies and equipment in metal fabrication, surface preparation, finishing, machine tools, welding and cutting, in addition to other related engineering specialties”, he said.

The CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah confirmed commitment to attract and retain major international exhibitions which strengthen Sharjah’s position in the MICE industry. He pointed out that the Centre is striving to improve its services to meet and exceed expectations of local and international exhibitors.

Furthermore, he noted the proposed expansion which will add 4,500 square meters of exhibition areas to the Centre. He added that the expansion plans coincided with the preparation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Expo Centre Sharjah.

“Expo Centre Sharjah was the first of its kind convention and exhibition facility in the UAE. It benefited from Sharjah’s diverse economy, financial and political stability, world-class infrastructure, low cost of production and the investor-friendly legal and regulatory frameworks. These elements, among others, have made Sharjah a destination of choice for investors”, Al Midfa clarified.

SteelFab 2017 will run until Thursday, with the participation of 350 exhibitors from 28 countries with the timings from 10 am to 7 pm daily.
