The number of visitors during the first three days of Sharjah International Book Fair exceeded 465,000, a number that is unprecedented in the history of the book fair, announced Ahmad Bin Rakkad Al Ameri Director of Saharjah International Book Fair
.
He added that this was due to the number and variety of events organized by the fair - now in its 33rd edition – as well as the number of participating publishing houses that reached 1256 and hailed from 59 countries
.
The number of visitors in the third day alone, reached nearly 200,000, Al Ameri said, adding that the overall number of visitors for the 11 days of the fair is expected to be 25% higher than last year, that witnessed more than 1 million visitors
