Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the Higher National Committee of UAE's 44th National Day, emphasised that National Day celebrations represent a happy occasion for all segments of the UAE society, adding that it is the most important day for this homeland as it denotes the beginning of the country's renaissance and is a symbol of security, welfare and progress at all levels in the UAE.
Sheikh Nahyan added, "This day reminds us of our founding fathers, especially the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who laid the foundation stone and erected pillars of this homeland and prioritised Emiratis. Our wise leaders, namely, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, followed his legacy which made the country a symbol of progress, growth, welfare and security, not only in the region but also at the international level."
This came when Sheikh Nahyan met with members of the Higher National Day Committee. During the meeting, he approved the UAE's 44th National Day logo. They also discussed the proposed events and activities planned by local departments and committees across the country for this year's celebrations.
The proposals focussed on highlighting the UAE's values, heritage, culture and distinguished achievements, accomplished thanks to the wise leadership which transformed the UAE into a modern and developed country.
The 'Spirit of the Union' will remain the official theme of the UAE's 44th National Day celebrations aimed at instilling the spirit of the motto in the public mind.
Ibrahim Al Abed, Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and others attended the meeting.
Sheikh Nahyan disclosed that this year's celebrations will see a qualitative and quantitative development and will present a true and integrated image of the UAE such as its heritage, present and future with government-wide and popular participation as well as participation by ministries, local and federal departments, private sector, Emiratis and expatriate residents. He also lauded the efforts exerted by members of the higher committee and heads of the affiliated committees.
Sheikh Nahyan added that the participation of all authorities, federal and local departments, private sector, UAE citizens and residents in the National Day celebrations will present a genuine image of the UAE society's cohesion and spirit of solidarity under the flag of the UAE and the wise leadership.
