Under the Patronage of Dr. RafiaGabash, the founder and president of “The women’s museum” and with the presence of a large crowd from the cultural field in Dubai. The opening ceremony was announced on Tuesday, June 9th at the Emirates Financial Tower- DIFC by Mr. Mwafaq Al Gaddah, Chairman of MAG Group, and Dr. Lamia Assi, Managing Partner of Lamiatos Gallery.Lamiatos Gallery aims to be an added value to the cultural and artistic scene.

Dr RafiaGabash welcomed the guests and gave a brief speech mentioning “Dubai has reserved a valuable position among theworld wide nations as a symbol of culture diversity.” Dr Gabbash also added; “The Emirati artist and guest of honour, Dr NajjatMakki proved that the role of Emirati women have made a significant impact on empowering women within the Arab society by getting involved in a number of fields, such as art, culture,business and others.

Mr.Mouafaq Al Gaddah, Chairman of MAG Group explained that “The advancement of the art scene in Dubai and the significant growth that we are witnessing in the Art industry in UAE is a reflection of the successful journeyof development in UAE. What makes Dubai very special is the richness of its civilized and architectural infrastructure. MAG Group believes that Dubai is a unique and major hub for grasping cultural and artistic opportunities.

The speech given by Dr Lamia Assi, Managing partner of Lamiatos Gallery, focused on presenting the gallery as a new valuable addition to the cultural and contemporary art scene in Dubai. Several messagesbeen introduced byLamiatos Gallery; first art is a platform for unification, second; art reflects and serves the causes of humanity and community.

The launch of the gallery was along with the opening of the first collective exhibition for prominent artists and young talents entitled by “Music of Colour”. With the presence of the artist Dr. NajjatMakki who revealed how proud she is of being part of “Music of Color” exhibition.

The gallery presents a highly valuable collection of artwork that are shown in Dubai for the first time. The participating artists are:

HammoudChantout, Ali Moukawas, ZuhairHassib, Dr. NajatMakki,
Edward Shahda, Inayyat Attar, BassimSebai, Fouad Dahdouh and ShaherSagher.
Along side some young talents including; Tamam Mohammed, Esam Yousef, Samir Safadi, Azad Hemi, Orouba Dib and Adnan Hamida.
