Qatari Culture Minister Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari
HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari has received an invitation to attend the official inauguration of celebrations marking Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2014, slated for next March.
Dr. Al Kuwari also received a message containing an invitation to attend the first edition of the Sharjah Theatre Days festival, due to be held in September next year upon directives of Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qassemi.
The invitations were received during a meeting Dr. Al Kuwari held with a UAE cultural delegation led by Director of Sharjah Culture and Information Department Abdullah Mohamed Al Owais.
HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage welcomed the initiative of Sheikh Al Qassemi for organizing the Sharjah Theatre Days festival stressing that it goes in line with the care Qatar gives to the joint Gulf action in the cultural and innovative field.
He promised that Qatar participation in the festival will be distinctive, explaining that Qatar will participate with a big drama work matching the progress achieved in the Qatari theatrical movement.
For his part, the Director of the Sharjah Culture and Information Department said during the meeting that the cultural and artistic achievements in Qatar and many innovative figures and honourable theatrical movement, made us hope for a Qatari participation in the Sharjah Theatre Days festival matching Qatar's achievement in the field of culture.
