Comments Waters made to the Huffington post recently were misconstrued
Musician, Roger Waters, has released an official statement on his Facebook page clarifying his position on the occupation of Palestine. In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Waters had said
he was reconsidering his "cultural boycott of Israel.” The interview was misconstrued, and led many to believe that Waters was reconsidering his support of Palestine and the Palestinian people. This is not the case.
The statement, issued by the founding member of Pink Floyd, called for a continuation of the cultural boycott of Israel, “until such time as the Israeli government ceases its illegal occupation of Palestinian lands.” He added: “Peace for them both (Israel and Palestine) is our goal. Not to talk is not an option.”
