Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an emiri decree establishing the Arab Forum for Publishers of Children Books. Decree no 15 of 2013 stipulates that the forum
will be headquartered in Sharjah and may open branches within the Emirate of Sharjah and abroad. It will be a corporate body with full legal capacity to discharge legal responsibilities required to deliver its objectives under the umbrella of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
According to terms of reference, the forum aims to develop and support the children books publishing industry in shape and content, promote the message of those publishers and broaden scopes of joint work and cooperation.
The mandate also includes drawing of general policy, representation of publishers in Arab and international industry events, conclusion of agreements with partners who serve the vision of the forum, organisation of book exhibitions and undertaking training workshops for members.
