Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said on Tuesday that Lebanon was "a model of dialogue between different cultures and religions". At a speech during InternationalFrancophone Day
, he urged the world's Francophone community to expand its influence.
Suleiman said he hoped Francophone nations would enlarge their presence in the fields of arts and culture so as to remain as a hub for civilisation, religion and culture.
He added that Lebanon represented an international model for the co-habitation of different cultures, religions and civilisations that engage in dialogue.
International Francophone Day commemorates the founding of the international organisation that includes governments whose mother language or secondary language is French or most of whose population consists of French speakers.
