Amman - Iman Yousef

Tajalla Music Society organized the second presentation of "Music of the Balconies", from the balcony of the historic Abu Jaber House in the city of Salt, Jordan. The presentation sponsored by Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation and in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Jordan Gallery for Culture and Arts (Orchestra and the Balqa Choir).

The show included oriental music and classical operatic singing from international music selections by young musicians and vocalists from Irbid, Amman and Salt. This is the second offer in a series of deals including Irbid, Haseen and Madaba, as well as performances by Amman's balconies.

The music of the balconies is an interactive project that aims to present musical performances from the balconies of Jordanian cities and towns, including musical performances that are presented to the public directly without any prior notice of their dates.

The director of the association, Russell Nasser, said that the performances of the second stage focused on the search for voices and energies of young singing to support the emerging music production.

"Through this project, we also hope to provide documentation of the Jordanian musical situation and demonstrate the interaction of people and the place with music, in addition to providing a rich visual material of images and video that monitors these encounters and emotions and reflects the true human identity in every Jordanian city," Nasser added.

The performances are performed by a number of musicians, including Nour Abu Haltam on the flute and Oud machine, Tallinn Shahranian on the Oboe machine, and Magd Khanof on the piano, and the singer Uday Al Nabar and the rhythm of Morhaf Al Kafri.

For her part, the Executive Manager of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, Ms. Valentina Kassisieh, said that the Foundation's scholarship program aims at reinforcing the importance of creative artistic and literary culture and investing in the cultural talents of artists and writers, especially young people, as well as developing literary and artistic spaces and preserving and protecting national cultural heritage.

"We believe in the importance of art and music and that it is a right for all and not a luxury," she added. "The Foundation has recently organized various cultural events in the provinces, not only in Amman, and this is in line with the goals and orientations of music, she stated.
