The Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA), during the World Stamp Exhibition (Philakorea 2014), won a number of laurels for their entries. Exhibitors from more than 69 countries participated in the show being organised in Seoul, South Korea, between 7 – 12 August 2014.
EPA participants in the exhibition won a number of laurels for their entries. Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Tayyeb Khoory, EPA current President won a Gold medal for his exhibit "Abu Dhabi from Trucial States to U.A.E.", this is first time to receive Gold Medal for any philatelic exhibit on Abu Dhabi. Mr. Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal won Gold medal for "A Postal History Study of Airmail from Iraq 1919-1945".
Also. Abdulla Mohammed Tayyeb Khoory won the Large Vermeil medal for his exhibit "Dubai Postal History". Omar Mohammed Ahmad Al Muallemi won Vermeil medal for his exhibit "A Glance on Stamps used in Dubai".
EPA young member Eisa Bin Ahmad Al Serkal won Large Vermeil medal for exhibit "Dubai: Errors and Varieties" which was shown in Youth Class. Jamal Albarzi won 87 points for his one frame entry "Syrian Army Postal Tax 1945-1950" U.A.E. delegate also attended 73rd FIP Congress held on 12 August 2014 in which new President of Federation of International de Philatelie was elected by secret voting.
Ali Abdulrahman Ahmad was National Commissioner and Muhammad Javaid served as Assistant Commissioner from the United Arab Emirates.
These achievements have enhanced the U.A.E.'s prestige in the world of philately. It is a great honour for the country to achieve these successes.
