Dubai International, DXB, has won the World Routes Marketing Award 2015 (50 million passengers category), which was announced at the 21st World Route Development Forum which concluded in the South African city of Durban recently. This follows DXB's success as the overall winner of the Routes Middle East & Africa Marketing Awards in June this year.
"We are thrilled to win this award and it's doubly satisfying to know that we were selected by our customer, the airlines, while competing with some of the world's best international airports. At Dubai Airports, we believe that the best way to serve our airlines is to offer our passengers the best experience possible by continually enhancing the quality of our products and services. Our win here is a reaffirmation of that belief, and a result of our close relationship with the 100 plus airlines at DXB," said Anita Mehra, Vice President of Communications and Business Development at Dubai Airports.
"This award means a great deal to us, considering the challenge we faced in maintaining and enhancing the service quality, both for our airline partners as well as the millions of passengers that pass through Dubai International, as the airport continued its rapid growth to become the world's number one airport for international passengers last year," said Khalil Lamrabet, Director of Aviation Business Development at Dubai Airports.
Created in 1997 to recognise excellence in airport marketing, the annual Routes Awards provide airlines with the chance to choose which airport they think provides the best overall marketing services. The awards are much coveted in the industry as they are voted for and judged by the airline network planning community. They also provide the airline community with the chance to recognise airport or tourism authorities they think have provided the best overall services related to route development and marketing over the past year.
