NBE Chairman in Sudan announces that the bank will be inaugurated soon The Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) in Sudan Saber Mohammed Al Hassan (former governor of Central Bank of Sudan) declared that the arrangements that were made for opening the National Bank of Egypt in Khartoum were finished on Thursday. On Tuesday evening, Saber said in his statement to Arabstoday that the bank was present in Sudan in the sixties and was playing the role of the Central Bank of Sudan until 1960. Now the bank is back as a commercial bank, and as one of the largest Egyptian and regional banks. Saber added that the bank's capital is $ 50 million and the bank will be working in banking and finance investments and focusing on the integration of agricultural food-security related projects between Egypt and Sudan. In addition to manufacturing and various other fields. He said that the bank will help in developing joint investment projects and supports the projects of the governments and the private sector in the two countries. He added that the First Vice President Ali Osman Taha and Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Kandil will inaugurate the bank in Sudan on Wednesday. Sabir assured that the senior leadership in the two countries is interested in developing the economic relations and the bank is expected to contribute in accomplishing this goal.
