The President of the Republic of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi, received, on Tuesday at the Carthage Palace, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairmanof Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, who is currently on a visit to Tunisia at the invitation of the Prime Minister to follow up the various cooperation between Tunisia and the foundation.
HH Sheikha Moza expressed his pleasure for meeting with the Tunisian president. She also expressed her satisfaction after the coordinated cooperation between Tunisia and Silatech foundation. She discussed different ways to support Tunisian youth through creating employment opportunities and supporting the small projects with the necessary technical and material support for it.
Moza indicated that the foundation intends to provide more than one million jobs by the year 2020 in various parts of the Arab world, including Tunisia.
For his part, Tunisia's President Beji Caid Essebsi praised the relationships and strong ties between Qatar and Tunisia, hailing the efforts of Sheikha Moza Moza's efforts to create jobs for young people in Tunisia, adding that the efforts of this foundation fit into the core interest of the Tunisian government, which began some time ago to provide the necessary facilities for young people, through granting them loans to finance their small projects.
The Tunisian PM and her Highness witnessed the signing of two collaboration agreements between Silatech and the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) on one hand and Tunisian and international organizations on the other. A number of ministers attended the signing.
The first agreement signed between Silatech and the Tunisian Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation. The second agreement aims to establish a partnership between the four parties of Silatech, EAA, Dutch organization SPARK and the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training (ATFP) to develop a vocational training curriculum, provide training and to support entrepreneurship. This agreement is EAA's first project in Tunisia.
