A new song Calling for tolerance
Tunisian singer, Lotfi Bouchnak, said he is willing to be a witness of the moment he lives and the events seen by the Arab world and humanity in general. He announced launching a new song
within a few days, calling for unity between Muslims and Copts in Egypt, and he is currently preparing to participate in The Clip Festival in Jerusalem with a collection of songs mainly about the Palestinian cause.
Bouchnak told "Arabs Today" in an exclusive interview : "I am against the events Egypt witnessed last weekend, and against extremism and bloodshed in the name of religions. I introduced my new song to three directors in Egypt and they liked it and said they are willing to adopt this project.
The lyrics of the song which were written by Maged Youssef say:
“Muslim and Christians were always here hand by hand.
Workers, students, and Cops, Egyptians on one land.
In war and peace our struggle united us, In Mosques and Churches together we stand."
In School and College they are always close, Friday, Sunday, lighting a candle to Sayeda and Mary.
Saying to our God Amen, our country is for us all.
One people forever free, never accept humiliation, never let the conquerors in".
Bouchnak has also finished shooting his new song "The love song", the first collaboration between him and young Palestinian director Sameh El-Madhoun.
Bouchnak said: "El-madhoun read to me the song's lyrics which are about Palestine, and I liked it a lot and composed it, and shoot it to be shown in The Clip festival in Jerusalem".
He added: "we have other works in the festival, which will be held by Jerusalem for the first time in the upcoming weeks, like "I'll live despite illness and enemies" and "Stay steadfast, Palestine."
The Tunisian singer is expected to take apart in the jury of the festival which hosted for the first time in Palestine.
Bouchnak stressed that all songs will be about the core of Palestinian issue, their suffering and struggle, and for spreading this cause on the Visual level, which is almost absent in the serious songs about the Palestinian cause.
He considered "The love song" to be a milestone in the cooperation between Arab and Palestinian artists, saying that the message of art is sending the true image about the agony of the people and their struggle, which is "closer to viewers by enhancing the art with images and expressive words and attractive melody. This distinctive work will be the first of many works would grab attention towards the Palestinian cause, as a central issue to the Arabs and Muslims."
