The Egyptian consulate in Paris is taking necessary measures to bring home the body of Egyptian actor Salah Rashwan, who died in the French capital earlier Monday.
Consul Serenad al Gamil expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
Rashwan, 67, flew to Paris for cancer therapy sessions but his health suddenly deteriorated.
Head of the Actors' Syndicate Ashraf Zaki said the late actor has been diagnosed of cancer in 2012 and that he has been treated in Egypt since then.
But lately his health deteriorated, forcing his family to fly him to Paris for further therapy sessions, he added.
The date of the funeral will be immediately announced once the body is flown home, he said.
Born in 1950, Rashwan appeared in many films and television series alongside Egypt’s biggest stars.
Throughout his acting career, he became known for his important secondary roles such as El Mal We El Banon tv series (1993), and El Daly (2007).
