Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram
Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram believes anti-regime uprisings in the Arab world are in favour of the citizens regardless of any negative side effects. "I also don't expect this to have an effect on artistic
pusuits," said the star.
Nancy however refused to talk about the Syrian uprising when Arabstoday asked for her opinion, saying: "I'm only an artist and have nothing to say about politics."
The singer was talking in a press conference Sunday in the Moroccan capital Rabat, and is one of the main stars of this year's Mawazine, Rabat's annual music festival.
"I'm happy to meet my fans in Morocco again...I was stunned by their great reception of me in my first visit!" she said.
She also said she would try to release a song in the Moroccan dialect soon.
On her being banned from singing in Tunisia's Carthage Festival, Nancy said: "I would prefet to forget that...though I have no problem with performing in Tunisian festivals."
