Egyptian singer Hani Shaker
The Egyptian singer Hani Shaker told Arabstoday that he could not control his tears in front of the Minister of Defence General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during the Sinai festival celebrations.
Shaker shed tears on the stage of the Opera House during the ceremony of the Egyptian armed forces. The singer said that he is proud of the Egyptian army’s acts during the past three years since the January 25 revolution.
Shaker said "If any Egyptian singer was in my place on the day and felt the beauty of al-Sisi’s words he would also cry.”
"I am proud of my participation in this wonderful event, I am also proud that I sang in front of the great leaders of our military, I saw the same thing in the eyes of Latifa, Wael Jassar and Hussein Al Jasmi,” he said.
Regarding his new work Shaker confirmed that he has almost finished his next album, he stated that it will contain many songs in “various Gulf dialects."
The singer revealed that the album will not contain more than ten songs, and that contributions from Saudi poet Asier and Egyptian composer Khaled Jindi will feature heavily. Although currently the album has no release date Shaker said it will be issued “as soon as possible.”
He also added that he received lyrical inspiration from his composer friends such as Bahaa al-Din Muhammad, Nasir Algeel, Mohammed Dia’a and Walid Saad.
“I will start in selecting the songs after signing a contract with a production company’ Shaker said.
