Tunisian actress Dora Zarrouk and Hind Sabri
Tunisia – Azhar Al Jerbuay
Tunisian actress Dora Zarrouk has been chosen to play the wife of ousted Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali Leila Trabelsi in "The Beautiful and The Adventurer". The programme tells the story of Ben
Ali’s rise to power after the coup against President Habib Bourguiba, and the details of his downfall after the January 14 2011 revolution.
The series will follow Ben Ali and his wife Leila Trabelsi, who worked as hairdresser in Beauty salon before falling in love with the young officer Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, after they were brought together by their joint ambition and love of power.
Sources have reveled that a central plotline will document a dramatic and complex struggle between Dora and Hind Sabri who will play role of Wasela Ben Ammar, the wife of the late President Habib Bourguiba, overthrown by ousted President Ben Ali in 1987.
The series is set to show during next Ramadan and the majority of filming will take place in Tunisia, after production teams received permits to film in the presidential palaces. The director of “The Beautiful and The Adventurer" has not yet decided who will play the role of Ben Ali.
