Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe
Beirut – Suleiman Asfhani
In an interview with ‘Arabstoday,' Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe said that “love is life’s oxygen; without it, man’s daily life seems dim. If it weren’t for love, the law of the jungle would have prevailed.” Haifa
pointed out that although Valentine’s Day comes only once a year “to most people,” she believes that every minute of her life spent with her Egyptian husband Ahmad Abu Hashima, and every minute spent with “loyal loved ones”, is a Valentine’s Day.
Haifa refused to disclose the present her husband gave her on Valentine’s, saying instead that “a genuine sweet word would be enough and much more expressive than any gift. Beautiful and sincere feelings are invaluable, and such feelings are key pillars in any good relationship.”
Wehbe wishes that peace and security will prevail in the Arab world, saying the occasion (Valentine’s Day) is perfect for wishing stability, love, and peace to all Arab nations which are currently witnessing crises.
Haifa did not perform any concerts on Valentines' eve, in solidarity with Arab countries which are facing political crises.
“I am the daughter of this society, and it’s only natural that I sympathise with its people who have always loved me and supported me. So I preferred not to sign on Valentine’s and I decided to spend the day with my husband and family,” said the Lebanese singer.
