Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Patti Smith will be among the music legends on hand next month to induct the latest group into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Wonder, who was himself inducted in 1989, will take part in the ceremony in Cleveland on April 18 to enshrine Bill Withers, the singer known for songs such as "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Lean on Me."
McCartney, who is already honored in the Hall of Fame both as part of the Beatles and as a solo artist, will induct his former bandmate Ringo Starr, the music museum announced Wednesday.
Smith, a major force in New York avant-garde culture, will induct the late Lou Reed who is being honored in his own right after entering the Hall as part of the Velvet Underground.
Performers at the ceremony will include Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, singer-songwriter John Legend and the Grammy-winning alternative rock veteran Beck.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's annual ceremony is often marked by rare performances. Last year, surviving members of Nirvana including Grohl played a one-off reunion at a bar after the grunge band was inducted.
