Model Sheridyn Fisher
Australian lingerie model Sheridyn Fisher wears only lettuce leaves during filming for the new ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in Sydney. The model is encouraging people
to go vegan to avoid animal suffering, lose weight and feel healthier. The ad, which was created in-house and will run in magazines as well as on the PETA website, features Aussie playmate Sheridyn Fisher wearing a lettuce-leaf bikini holding a sign reading “Turn over a new leaf. Go Vegetarian. PETA.”
PETA Spokesperson Ashley Fruno said: "We hope to draw people's attention to the fact that going vegretarian/vegan is the best things you can do for the animals, the environment, and your own health. It's a fun and provocative way to draw attention to a serious message, and that is that a plant-based diet is a great way to stay slim and sexy."
Fisher said: "I'm asking people to turn over a new leaf and go vegan. With so many delicious alternatives now available, it's easier than ever to enjoy great food without causing animal suffering."This ad continues the run of controversial campaigns by the animal rights organisation. In September they ran an ad featuring an aged Julia Gillard in an attempt to protest against live exports.
