Burberry's Spring/Summer 2013 advertising campaign Burberry has unveiled their hotly anticipated Spring/Summer 2013 advertising campaign, starring Romeo Beckham, Cara Delevingne and Edie Campbell. The muses donned colourful metallic raincoats from the new collection which came under fire from fashion critics for its so-called ‘Quality Street chic’. But that’s not the only reason the new campaign has faced some criticism. 10 year old Romeo’s position as a mini-me of the male model he stands next to has prompted some to question whether he is a victim of pushy parents. The Telegraph Newspaper questioned: “Were Romeo a girl, I’m sure that there would be clamouring about how he was being exploited and sexualised by being costumed as a mini-adult. Why is that not the same for a boy?” Two years ago, Romeo was ranked 26th in GQ’s “best-dressed men in Britain” list. But the child has been banned from the pages of British Vogue magazine, as the 10-year-old son of Victoria and David does not meet its health-initiative criteria. The editor of Vogue, Alexandra Shulman, declared on twitter: “Romeo Beckham doesn’t meet the Vogue model health-initiative criteria of over-16s only. Under-16 models are banned from the pages of our magazine.” The Beckhams are currently looking for schools for their children after moving back to the United Kingdom from Los Angeles.
