TV presenter Rick Edwards was among the stylish crowd
London – Caroline Kent
The London Men’s collections kicked-off on Sunday with an intimate gathering of industry insiders at members’ club The Little House in Mayfair. London-based brand Duchamp displayed looks from their
autumn 2013 collection of signature Savile Row suits.
The New York Times' Bruce Pask, Bloomingdales' Josh Peskowitz and TV presenter Rick Edwards were all spotted by Arabstoday sipping orange-flavoured ‘old fashioned’ cocktails and discussing how the selection would integrate seamlessly in to their wardrobes.
From the Scottish tweed weekend jacket accented with a quirky paisley pocket square to a divine jacquard double-breasted dinner jacket that would make any man the best dressed at a black-tie event, the selection was wearable and thoroughly well-made, with hints of the eccentric and essentially British dandyism that will taken Duchamp forward as a brand.
The event kicked-off the second ever season that menswear designers have had their own dedicated fashion week in London, with brands such as Burberry and Christopher Kane also holding highly-anticipated events. Dylan Jones, Chair of London Collections: Men, told press: "London is the home of menswear, so it's only natural that it has its own dedicated fashion week. London invented tailoring in Savile Row, it invented youth culture, and it continues to produce the best young designers in the world. Why would a menswear designer choose to show anywhere else?" It seems Dylan is spot-on as we’ve heard through the grapevine that next season will see a full-on Duchamp runway show, watch this space.
