Lady Gaga in Stephane Rolland dress
Lady Gaga's ultra-risqué International Emmys dress was a mistake, says the designer. The eccentric songstress arrived at the event in New York in a daringly high-cut black gown that was close to exposing
a lot more than she intended. Many speculated that the piece was meant to fall that way because of Gaga's fashion-forward nature. But the French label claims the dress, from the 2011 winter collection, was given to Gaga straight off the catwalk, and so meant for a taller model.
A spokersperson told TMZ.com: “The slit came way further up her waist than what our designers had in mind.”
But despite the sartorial slip, the designer insists he is pleased with the outcome. Rolland said: “We’re not mad that the dress ended up looking like that on Gaga ... she does make it a little naughtier!” Gaga is a fan of Rolland and often wears his gothic but elegant designs.
