Paris Fashion Week
Vivienne Westwood presented her nostalgic and ethereal ready-to-wear line during Paris Fashion Week. She showcased the cultural and historical richness of London's past. Called "London," the collection was a
ceremonial display of Elizabethan corsets, printed Union Flag creations, Edwardian coats, Dick Turpin hats and black coats

Westwood said that fashion “builds on the styles of the past in order to move forward”. But she admitted her main focus had been on the 17th Century, which saw the death of Elizabeth I and Shakespeare, the great plaque and fire of London.
She said. “A century of great change and drama, it was the age of the amateur and of the rugged individualist and adventurer. In this century, the British forged their national identity.”
At the end of the show, Westwood came to take her bows in a silk dress printed with money.
She said: “Fashion spins money. My motto is buy less, choose well and make it last.”
