Palestine’s Health Ministry has played down the threat
Palestine – Emtyaz Al Mograbi
Director General of Palestine’s Health Ministry Asaad El-Ramlawy said that swine flu has spread in the West Bank this winter, with the number of deaths increasing. He added that five people have died in that last few days, whilst
160 were struck down with the illness.
Medical sources confirmed that a number of people were taken to hospitals in Bethlehem on Wednesday suffering from swine flu. El-Ramlawy said that the patients are in a stable condition. A large number of citizens expressed their worry about the spread of the disease, especially in the northern governorates but El-Ramlawy played down its seriousness, stressing that the disease has seen a spread all over the world, not just Palestine. He added that the Health Ministry has a supply of drugs that can deal with the disease and emphasised that swine flu treatment is free to patients.
