The International Conference on Health Security started here today, organized by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), World Health Organization and Council of Arab Ministers for Health from 25 to 27 September 2018, in the presence of President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Albunayan and a number of officials, with the participation of a number of specialists in the health sector and health security.
The conference will discuss a number of topics including: the disasters and risks of infectious diseases and epidemics, nuclear, biological and chemical threats; disaster preparedness and response; management of threats to the health and security of the Arab citizen; the effects of wars on health security; the legislative and regulatory mechanisms for health security.
It is worth mentioning that the conference aims to raise the awareness of the importance of health security, review the international experiences in the field of health security, strengthen the Arab cooperation in the field of health security, identify and analyze the emerging threats to people's health and security.
