Executive members of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development have completed the first phase of a challenging leadership development
programme, established in partnership with the University of Oxford's prestigious Saïd Business School.
As part of its ongoing commitment to professional development, 25 senior managers received a certificate of achievement from Rashid al-Naimi, Vice President of Administration at Qatar Foundation.
The ceremony, which was held on Monday at Qatar National Convention Centre, was attended by Ghanim al-Naimi, Director of Talent Sourcing and Development at Qatar Foundation, in addition to other leading personnel.
The unique leadership development programme has been carefully designed to further enhance the expertise of top-tier managers who work within the Foundation's various sectors, including science, research, education, community development, capital projects, and administration. Spearheaded by Qatar Foundation's Human Resources Directorate, the course has been carefully tailored to suit the organisation's strategic goals and objectives by improving the efficiency of its various departments.
Rashid al-Naimi stressed the importance of the programme in helping trainees to tackle complex problems, and highlighted the many benefits of implementing new and practical approaches to improve teamwork and synergy.
"The leadership development programme is very important to us, since it will effectively contribute to the development of Qatar Foundation's current and future leaders," he said.
"It has been designed to help us enhance best practices and contribute to the overall success of the organisation. The programme, which is delivered by Oxford University's Saïd Business School, is unique to Qatar Foundation and we plan to continue developing it for our future leaders. I would like to thank the team who participated for their hard work, commitment and dedication to the programme. I would also like to thank the organising team who helped make it a great success," he added.
The development plan consists of four learning modules - Excellence Orientation, Innovation, Development and Delivering results - and aims to equip trainees with tools to improve their innovative and creative capabilities, while encouraging strategic thinking and leadership.
Hassan al-Hammadi, Executive Director of the Human Resources Directorate at Qatar Foundation, said, "The programme is tailored to meet Qatar Foundation's diverse needs by addressing each of its three pillars, Education, Science and Community Development. The aim is to develop a leadership pipeline that will enable us to confront our strategic challenges directly. The course will not only equip our team with essential skills but also encourage members to share knowledge and experiences. I look forward to seeing the programme develop as members pass on their skills to other future leaders of Qatar Foundation."
Participants will move onto the second phase of the programme in September, when they will be required to put the many valuable skills they have gained during the first phase into practice.
