Online flight meta-search Skyscanner is the latest travel site
Online flight meta-search Skyscanner is the latest travel site to expand its services and make a major foray into hotels.
With its acquisition of Barcelona-based hotel search company Fogg
, Skyscanner hopes to steal a slice of the market share currently dominated by all-in-one travel sites like Expedia, Travelocity and TripAdvisor, where online travelers can book both their flights and their hotels on the same page.
Skyscanner is available in 40 countries and 30 languages and receives more than 60 million visits a month.
Currently, the Edinburgh-based company offers a smaller hotel search option in English and Spanish with plans to integrate Fogg-powered search options into the site by the end of the year and expand the service into 30 languages.
