Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), master developer of major tourism, cultural and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi, received multiple prestigious awards for developments across its portfolio, including its flagship project Saadiyat island and Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, at the World Travel Awards 2015 Middle East Ceremony, which was held at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai.

The World Travel Awards is acknowledged around the world as the highest achievement that a travel destination could hope to receive, celebrating excellence in the global and travel tourism industry. The award was accepted by TDIC's Director of Infrastructure, Jassim Al Hammadi.

In the presence of the region's tourism industry leaders, including senior officials of leading travel companies, government ministers and tourist board chiefs, Saadiyat received the ‘Middle East's Leading Beach Destination' award for the third year in a row, while Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara was once again recognised as ‘Middle East's Leading Desert Spa Resort'.

Ali Majed Al Mansoori, TDIC's Chairman of the Board, said: "We are pleased that our developments, especially Saadiyat, continue to be recognised at this prestigious event. These awards acknowledge their enduring appeal and growing presence across various sectors, in the presence of leading hospitality and tourism representatives. I look forward to witnessing even greater achievements and milestones as the island develops further over the coming years."."

Saadiyat is one of the emirate's leading tourism destinations, and a prime address for high-end residential, educational, cultural, hospitality, and leisure developments. Once completed, the 27-square-kilometre natural island will house around 145,000 residents, offering at the same time an entirely unique experience for travellers, including access to the island's three prized museums, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
