Scowsill tells conference delegates to focus on long-term strategies
World Travel and Tourism President, David Scowsill, has told the 13th WTTC Global Summit in Abu Dhabi that; “The private and public sector must come together and focus on long
term strategies to ensure the industry is ahead of the growth curve.”Breaking Travel News reported that in his closing speech, Scowsill told the conference that the tourism industry must “concentrate on initiatives and infrastructure,” he added that they should not focus solely on “short term goals.”
WTTC forecasts that the global economic contribution of tourism will account for ten percent of global GDP by 2023. Tourism employment is also predicted to add over 70 million jobs in the next decade.
