Bonhams will present an extraordinary collection of cars for auction as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on June 26.
1961 Porsche RS61
The incontestable crown jewel of this auction is this Porsche RS61 being sold by Sir Stirling Moss. This car is the last one the legendary Formula 1 racing driver, described as "the greatest driver never to win the World Championship," ever raced, and he describes it as "the best car you could buy."
Valued at $2.6 to $3 million
1935 Aston Martin Ulster Competition Sports
The hammer won't come down for less than 2 million euros for this sensational Aston Martin, a veteran of the Le Mans 24-hour, the Mille Miglia and the 1936 French Grand Prix, where it was driven by the brilliant Dick Seaman.
Valued at $2.4 to $3.3 million
1958 Mercedes 300SL
This cabriolet version of the famous Mercedes 300SL, the fastest production car of its day, is often seen on the auction block. In six years of production, only 1,858 of these luxurious sports cars came off the line.
Valued at $1.2 to $1.5 million
1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
This prestigious roadster owes its name to the maximum speed it was capable of attaining (120mph, or a little more than 190km/h). This particular model was a participant in several rally races.
Valued at $370,000 to $430,000
1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud
It is a cabriolet version of this nearly two-ton icon from the British luxury brand that is up for auction. Its powerful V8 engine can propel it to just over 110mph (180km/h), all while enjoying the legendary luxurious comfort of Rolls-Royce.
Valued at $200,000 to $240,000
1929 Bugatti Type 40 Grand Sport Style Tourer
Highly sought after by collectors, this light and nervy Bugatti, of which fewer than 1,000 were ever built, is presented here in its Grand Sport version.
Valued at $180,000 to $230,000
1977 Ferrari 308 GTB
The auction also includes a pristine model of this coupé, made famous by Tom Selleck in his role as Magnum PI, of which just over 10,000 were made by the Italian brand.
Valued at $91,000 to $120,000
1971 Citroën Maserati SM
Property of former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, this GT produced by Citroën in the early 1970s houses a powerful 190hp V6 engine by Maserati under its hood.
Valued at $53,000 to $64,000
