Pharaons Rally end Celebrations
Cairo – Somaia Ibrahim
The Egyptian Automobile & Touring Club has organised a special event on Saturday to celebrate the October 6 victory and the end of the 30th round of the International Pharaons Rally 2012.
Classic and historic cars will tour Cairo and Giza, with the participation of the members of the club and owners of luxury classic cars.
The march is scheduled to end its route in the location where the Pharaons Rally will finish, crowning the winner as “World Rally Champion.”
Head of the Classic and Historic Car Committee Mounir al-Zahed, said the most exquisite brands of the old times will take part in the celebration including Buick 1939 which belonged to the late actor Nagib al-Rihani, another Rolls Royce 1948 of King Farouk in addition to other brands “whose owners are making great effort to maintain them at the same standard and the remarkable form they were at the time of production.”
“These cars will remind us of the scented history of this classic era, and people will wonder when seeing them how they are still the same, and still touring the streets of Egypt,” al-Zahed added.
