The Pininfarina Cambiano concept A saloon on one side, a classic coupe on the other, the Cambiano Concept elegantly embraces a dichotomy of design.Courtesy of Italian car magazine Quattroruote, the first images and details of the Cambiano, concept that has been painfully leaked over the past few months are finally upon us. At the Geneva Motor Show next week it will make its world premiere.Initial impressions of the Cambiano were that it would be a sedan, but later it appeared that Pininfarina had developed a two-door coupe. In actual fact, the Cambiano study is both a coupe and sports sedan. The Italian design house has achieved this ambitious feat by fitting one large door on the driver's coupe-like side, while on the passenger's side a suicide door solution has been adopted, which coupled with the removal of the center pillar results in better entry and exit to the car's seating positions.Inspiration for the svelte exterior came from Pininfarina's 1957 Lancia Florida II, while there's a minimalist interior with wood trimmed floor and seating for four as well as a glass roof.At the rear, taillights boast LEDs hidden by a chrome bar that reflects light into the recesses of the body.Power to the range-extended EV comes from four 80hp electric motors, one for each wheel. Up front sits a diesel turbine engine that works like a generator recharging the batteries, which offer a range north of 200km.Pininfarina claim the concept can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds en route to a 186 mph top speed.
