THE Sydney Nostalgia Drags
THE Sydney Nostalgia Drags is under new management and the first of the new events will be on 20 November, at Sydney Dragway.
Dubbed the Sydney Hot Rod Reunion
& Nitrofest, the meeting will be headlined by seven nitro-powered cars, including the Cowin’s Psycho III Fuel Altered and the ’57 Chev and Plymouth Satellite Funny Cars.
To tie the event into the sport’s history, the Australian Nostalgia Fuel Association will present its first Annual Pioneer Awards on the Saturday evening at the dragway, where the recipients — including Eddie Thomas, Bob Dunn, Peter and Brian Keegan, SM’s Dave Cook, Graeme Cowin and Wendy Johns — will be available for a meet and greet.
They will also be present at the Rocket Industries Open Day earlier on Saturday, at Rocket HQ in Huntingwood.
Racing is open for nostalgia Altereds, Funny Cars, HAMBsters, dragsters, hot rods and pre-’78 Aussie and US sedans. Race entry is just $50, with $20 crew pre-purchase tickets. See wsid.com.au.
