H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on Saturday received Colombia's Minister of Foreign Relations, Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar, on the sidelines of the fifth Sir Bani Yas Forum currently underway at the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, in Liwa, Abu Dhabi.
Welcoming the Colombian minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed the hope that her visit to the U.A.E. would contribute towards bolstering the bilateral relations in all spheres.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the relations between the U.A.E. and Colombia, the progress and development of bilateral cooperation in several spheres as well as ways to support and promote these to serve their mutual interest.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and discussed various issues of common interest.
On her part, the Colombian Foreign Minister emphasised that her U.A.E. visit will open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in different sectors. She expressed her admiration of the civilisational and urban renaissance of the U.A.E..
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Minister Holguin signed an agreement between the U.A.E. and Colombia on exempting official, diplomatic and special passport holders from entry visa on reciprocal basis.
They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a joint committee and another MoU on political consultations.
