Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour with UAE FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Egyptian President Adly Mansour has re-affirmed his country's support to the different international stands taken by the UAE, saying that security of the Gulf and Egypt is inseparable. In a statement by the Egyptian presidency issued
Sunday after Mansour's meeting with UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Egyptian President expressed appreciation to the UAE's "strong political and economic support to Egypt following the 30th of June 2013 revolution." President Mansour asked Sheikh Abdullah to pass on his greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and to His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to President Mansour greetings of Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said the UAE was keen on continuing its support to Egypt, adding that Egypt's stability reflects positively on the stability of the UAE and of the Gulf countries in general.
According to the statement, the meeting touched on the efforts made by the UAE to provide economic and social support to Egypt. Also reviewed was the outcome of the high level U.S. delegation to the UAE to discuss best means to support Egypt.
The meeting also discussed a number of regional issues, including situation in Syria and Iraq and the U.S.- Iranian rapprochement.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League and from the Egyptian side Nabil Fahmy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dr Mustafa Hijazi, Presidential Advisor for Strategic Affairs.
