Egypt's defence, foreign ministers start visit to Russia

Egypt's Defence Minister Field Marshal Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and FM Nabil Fahmi Egyptian Defence Minister Field Marshal Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi will start an official visit to Russia on Wednesday for separate talks as part of 2+2 meetings aiming at boosting cooperation between Egypt and Russia. The visit comes in response to the Russian defence and foreign ministers' visit to Egypt on November 14.
Russia's Itar Tass, meanwhile, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will meet their Egyptian counterparts on Thursday.
The visit of the two senior Egyptian officials was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry hours before its scheduled date.
In their Cairo talks, the Egyptian and Russian sides expressed their desire to deepen cooperation and foster partnership between Cairo and Moscow to settle pressing issues at the regional and international arena.
