Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received John Key, the prime minister of New Zealand, and members of his delegation, on Monday at Al Bahr Palace.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Prime Minister Key and expressed hope that his current visit will contribute towards enhancing friendship and cooperation relations between the UAE and New Zealand and serve the common interests of their peoples.
The two parties emphasised the keen interest of the two countries in developing bilateral relations and the importance of benefiting from new opportunities and potentials in both countries in various domains, the economic and investment domains in particular, to contribute towards the promotion of bilateral cooperation to wider avenues.
The two parties explored the mechanisms for promoting political, economic, social and educational relations between the two countries, as well as their efforts to expand their investment partnerships.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan takes interest in forging advanced cooperation relations with friendly countries in order to enhance communication and cultural, academic and civilisational exchange based on an essence of understanding, cooperation and joint action.
The two parties also exchanged views on the overall regional and international developments and a number of matters of mutual interest.
On his part, the prime minister of New Zealand expressed his delight at visiting the UAE stressing that his country is interested in promoting its relations with the UAE with a focus on economic and trade domains.
