Three applications were launched by Abu Dhabi Media (ADM) yesterday, introducing its market-leading magazines to digital audiences. A demo application for National Geographic, Zahrat Al Khaleej and Majid were launched at the Abu Dhabi
International Book Fair (ADIBF), which runs until tomorrow at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The apps will be available for download soon.
The apps will be in addition to the existing portfolio that includes Al Ittihad and The National newspapers, which provide in-depth reporting through a unique experience and a user-friendly interface.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmood, chairman and managing director of ADM, said the company consistently worked to be at the forefront of the digital market by investing heavily in diverse digital media platforms.
"The launch of these applications at the ADIBF reaffirms our commitment to servicing our growing readership,” he said. "The new platforms will undoubtedly appeal to a new segment of readers by providing accessibility to informative and entertaining content on the go.”
The apps, which enable users of tablets and smartphones to easily access the magazines' past and current online editions, are free for six months, after which subscribers will be charged a nominal fee. Journalists qualify for a free one-year subscription.
The company's diverse digital platform offerings had enjoyed "dramatic growth over the past year”, he said.
