Indigenous people drag Colombian army sergeant out of his military post London - Arab Today AFP photographer Luis Robayo has won a prestigious award in Colombia for a series of photos of an indigenous revolt in 2012. Robayo, 31 and based in the city of Cali, won for three shots of a sergeant crying after unarmed indigenous people forced him out of a military post in the town of Toribio in southwest Cauca department, the award organizing committee said Tuesday. The Simon Bolivar photography prize that he won is Colombia's most prestigious in the field. The indigenous people in a settlement called Nasa were demanding that both military forces and leftist FARC rebels leave their area, hit by frequent clashes between the two sides. Robayo has worked in Cauca since 2008. The prize is sponsored by a private security company called Seguros Bolivar. Every year it gives out journalism awards in 11 categories. Last year another AFP photographer, Luis Acosta, won the same award for a series of photos on women who were attacked with acid. Source: AFP
