BBC World News
BBC World News is back in air in Pakistan after it was blocked four months ago for broadcasting a documentary voicing criticism of the South Asian country's dealings with the Taliban.
The BBC
said it "welcomes this development and is committed to providing impartial news and current affairs to the people of Pakistan."
The broadcaster said it hoped there would be no future disruptions to its service in the country.
Cable operators have been blocking BBC World News from transmission across Pakistan since November 2011, when it broadcast a documentary called Secret Pakistan.
The two part documentary included accusations by US intelligence officers that Pakistan has reneged on its commitment to the 'war on terror', and that it has played a double game, claiming to be an ally of the US while training and arming the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The All Pakistan Cable Operators Association also threatened to bar any other foreign TV news channel airing what it called "anti-Pakistan" content.
However, in January, the country's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, told the BBC that it should be reinstated in Pakistan, and that he was "absolutely in favour of giving more freedom" to the media.
The government and the Pakistan Broadcasters' Association are currently discussing new regulations for non-state TV channels operating in Pakistan.
