Leader of Morocco's Justice and Charity movement, Mohammad Abbadi
Casablanca - Said Bounowar

Leader of Morocco's Justice and Charity movement, Mohammad Abbadi Morocco’s banned Islamist group announced it will soon launch a channel on the internet called “The Witness.” The Justice and Charity movement said the decision came in response to the ban issued by authorities on the group’s leaders from appearing on any public or private TV channels.
It is expected the online channel will later develop into a TV channel.
The Witness will document the group’s activities but will also allow its leaders to stay in touch with Moroccan public opinion as well as have a sense of what is happening in the international community in general.
Arab Today has learned that the Justice and Charity movement, which enjoys a good deal of popularity among Moroccans, is preparing to launch the channel in the very near future.
A number of programmes are being prepared, including one titled “Point of View” and another called “Intellectual Beacons.”
It is not yet known what the standpoint of the Moroccan authorities’ is on the upcoming channel but the Islamist group has officially been banned yet tolerated for several decades.
Justice and Charity refuses to recognise Moroccan King Mohammed VI’s title of commander of the faithful, a key difference with the moderate Islamist Party of Justice and Development (PJD) that came to power after winning elections in November 2011.
