Global Radio part-merges Smooth and Real FM
London – Arab Today
Global Radio has part-merged subsidiaries Smooth and Real FM, after being given the approval by the Competition Commission.
The media company is moving Smooth Radio
into its Leicester Square headquarters in London, and plans to integrate the Real and Smooth Ltd’s (RSL) sales force team from London and the West Midlands into its existing commercial team.
Smooth Radio’s programming team is currently in Manchester, but the station will broadcast from London from October.
A spokeswoman for Global Radio said: "Global Radio has today confirmed that the Smooth brand and its programming team will relocate to Global's headquarters in Leicester Square by the beginning of October. The RSL Direct sales team will also relocate to Leicester Square and to the new Global broadcast centre in Birmingham by October. Remaining areas of business will continue to operate under hold separate."
The group declined to comment on the number of employees relocating, or any would face redundancy.
