The Emirates News Agency, WAM, yesterday launched a special service to follow up the news regarding IDEX 2015 on its e-website http://www.wam.ae.
Jamal Nasser Al Suwaider, WAM's Executive Director, said that the service was designed to implement an overall media plan to highlight the event locally, regionally and internationally. He added that this will include publishing a number of press interviews with various defence ministers and military leaders of the participating countries, as well as providing live media coverage of the event's activities.
Al Suwaider added that the media coverage of IDEX 2015 is seen as being within the framework of highlighting the UAE's achievements in the field of organising international exhibitions, thanks to its integrated infrastructure, success in establishing strategic investments in the defence manufacturing fields and the sophisticated technology. All of this was aligned with the country's efforts to strive to diversify its economy.
'WAM highlights the signed deals, activities and the accompanying activities of the event and focusses on the top participating local, regional and international companies, which are keen on displaying their latest innovations in the defence and security fields as well as holding strategic partnerships with local, regional and global bodies," Al Suwaider added.
