Ajman - Arab Today

In its endeavours to broaden its educational horizons, Ajman University of Science and Technology has signed three Memoranda of Understanding, MoUs, with three Universities in South Korea.

Osama Salman, Vice President of the Ajman University of Science and Technology, signed the Memoranda which outline the facilitation of student and faculty exchange. The institutions will also be conducting joint conferences, seminars, workshops and research projects, amongst other avenues of cooperation. Similarly, knowledge sharing will be enabled by ensuring bilateral exchange of research results, academic materials and publications issued by both institutions.

The first MoU was with Sookmyung Women's University, a private university in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1906, Sookmyung is Korea's first royal private educational institution for women. Today, it has 100,000 alumni and 13,000 currently enrolled students. Over the 107 years of history of educating women leaders, it has accumulated invaluable educational experience, research capabilities and community service experience. Dr. Sun Hye Hwang, President, Sookmyung Women's University signed the MoU to initiate the mutually beneficial exchanges of faculty and student.

Ajman University also entered into an MoU with CHA University, a leading institution of teaching and research with over half a century of experience. They excel in bio-medical and medicine for the benefit of humanity at large. Their network includes CHA Hospital, Research Institutes, Medical Service Institutes, and Educational Institutes, and they specialise in anti-aging, stem cell generation and fertility.

The third MoU was signed with Daelim University College. Founded in 1977, its academic offerings are provided through divisions of engineering, humanities and society, arts, and natural science.

It is a private technical college, providing professional training to produce highly qualified and skilled graduates, and its programmes are centred on the ACE system of education: active, creative and ethical. Joong-Soo Nam, President of Daelim University, signed the document as part of the university's aspiration to facilitate exchange of experience and technical knowledge between the two institutions.
