Conference for Early Childhood Educators in Dubai
Around 250 educators and delegates are expected to participate in a conference for Early Childhood Educators today in Dubai. Explaining the importance of childhood education, Maalainaine Salama
, managing director of Ishara Consultants, the organisers, said the conference will generate awareness about various aspects of education for children.
"According to Unesco's Early Childhood Care and Education Unit, early childhood is defined as the period from birth to eight years. A time of remarkable brain development, these years lay the foundation for subsequent learning. Early childhood education often focuses on children learning through play, which is the organised practice of educating those who are in early childhood, one of the most vulnerable stages in life."
"We put forth an arena for people to discuss and share new ideas and practices in early childhood education with experts," Salama added.
The keynote speaker, Professor Christine Pascal, director of the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC) in Birmingham, will give an overview of children's early learning and the development of a quality curriculum under the title ‘Ensuring children's well-being from 3 to 5, including preparing for school'.
