British Council Director in Oman and Yemen Paul Doubleday
The Ministry of Education and the British Council signed on Wednesday a cooperation agreement on education area in the United Kingdom (UK)'s capital of London.
The agreement which was signed by Education Minister Abdul Razak
al-Ashwal and Paul Doubleday, the British Council Director in Oman and Yemen, stipulated that the council would train all the English teachers of the primary and secondary levels in order to build and enhance their experience.
The agreement also is to highlight the joint work to develop programs for the talented students as well as activating the various extra-curricular activities for students of both sexes in order to encourage them to learn the English language in the areas of (Novels - Poetry - Theater).
After signing the agreement, the Minister hailed the distinctive efforts exerted by the UK government in propping up the political settlement in Yemen, noting to the importance of learning other languages for their contribution in spreading concepts of harmony, peace and love in addition to their role in promoting the values of dialogue and coexistence among all people.
In return, the Council's Director expressed his great pleasure over signing the agreement and the cooperation between the ministry and council, wishing to cooperate in creating more cooperation opportunities in the future between the two countries.
